Topic in the state parliament – Tyrol: Further fuss about tests by HG Pharma

Everything is new in May? Not in the Tyrolean state parliament: The subject of HG Pharma will continue to play a role, as will the mental health of children and adolescents.

Although we will meet new faces in the Tyrolean state parliament, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, the topics are well known. This time, too, the HG Pharma cause hovers like a tense cloud over the Innsbruck Congress, where the Tyrolean state parliament sessions are taking place these days. At the moment, the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office is checking on a complaint from Neos whether there is an initial suspicion in connection with the HG Pharma case and whether an investigation may be initiated. At the request of the Tyrolean Freedom Party, the case also becomes a case for the State Audit Office in the course of a special audit.

Orders worth millions
So nothing is fixed at all yet – the state of Tyrol has not seen any illegal action so far – and so has the new state health councilor Annette Leja (VP), which will make its debut in the state parliament, described the approach of the state as “absolutely responsible”. But the excitement is still great.

“The black-green state government has awarded contracts worth millions by hand, ie without a tender,” was the accusation of club chairwoman Andrea Haselwanter-Schneider (Fritz list). In addition, there were apparently false coronavirus mutation analyzes, even if false positive or false negative tests should not have been the case.

Urgent question from the opposition
The opposition parties have submitted a joint urgent request to LH Günther Platter, in which they want to know the reasons for choosing exactly this company. The order volume was at least 8.5 million euros. It remains questionable whether the tests would have been cheaper elsewhere. The answer to the inquiry will probably only take place on Thursday around 5 p.m.

Focus on children and young people
This time the topic of the current lesson is given by the Neos and is: “The unheard victims of the lockdown – collateral damage in children and adolescents”. In March they had already tabled an emergency package. Club chairman Dominik Oberhof expressed his disappointment: “The state government saw no need. That needs to change!”
