Tor Browser has never hidden its goal, namely to circumvent online censorship and allow Internet users to browse anonymously at a time when our data is being tracked and Gafam are imposing their rules. On March 12, 2024, The Tor Project Inc. launched WebTunnel, a Tor bridge that allows Internet users to browse anonymously by imitating encrypted web traffic (HTTPS).
This is a perfect tool for those who want to circumvent censorship where free speech is muzzled by authoritarian governments.
The HTTPS protocol, normally used to secure websites, hides the data sent, making it appear like a normal online data exchange that is difficult to block. WebTunnel uses a technique called WebSocket to keep information unnoticed.
There are currently 60 bridges worldwide with 700 daily users for Tor Browser. The method is very popular in regions where censorship is strong.
To use WebTunnel, start by obtaining a bridge at this address. You must go to Advanced Option > WebTunnel in the drop-down menu, then click on Get Bridges. Solve the captcha, then copy the bridge.

Next, open the Tor Browser, go to Settings, then Connection. Click Add a bridge manually in the Bridges section. Paste the bridge, and voilà: you are using WebTunnel. Your connection is more secure when you use the software.
