TotalEnergies acquires Ombrea and creates a center of expertise dedicated to agrivoltaics – 09/28/2023 at 4:24 p.m.


(AOF) – TotalEnergies today finalized the acquisition of Ombrea, a player in agrivoltaics in France. By integrating the Ombrea teams and this expertise into its renewable activities, TotalEnergies intends to accelerate its development in the field of agrivoltaics in France but also internationally. This acquisition will allow TotalEnergies to accelerate the development of its 1.5 GW portfolio of agrivoltaic projects, meeting the criteria of the law for the acceleration of renewable energies of March 2023.

TotalEnergies will offer the agricultural world, under the Ombrea brand, solutions to combine solar production and agricultural production and in particular solutions for protection against weather hazards, maintaining or even improving yields, and adaptation to climate change.

TotalEnergies will welcome around forty Ombrea expert employees, as well as Christian Davico and Julie Davico-Pahin, its founders, who will be joined by TotalEnergies employees specializing in agrivoltaics on the Ombrea site in Aix-en-Provence where the division dedicated to the Company’s agrivoltaics will be established.

Founded in 2016, Ombrea has created expertise and innovative solutions to optimize synergies between agricultural production and green electricity production.

Biogas to green activities

Obtained through the decomposition of waste, it falls into the category of green energy.
