TotalEnergies selects Technip Energies and Clough for its Papua LNG project

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–The engineering and technology group for the energy industry Technip Energies announced on Monday that it has been selected within a consortium by TotalEnergies to carry out an engineering study of detailed engineering design (FEED) of the production infrastructure upstream of the Papua LNG project, in Papua New Guinea.

The financial elements of the contract awarded to the consortium, which also includes the Australian group Clough, have not been disclosed.

The infrastructure covered by this contract “covers the development of the Elk and Antelope onshore gas fields, including the wells and the gas processing plant,” Technip Energies said in a statement. “The development also incorporates a carbon capture and sequestration system to remove CO2 from fields and reinject it into reservoirs,” the group added.

The Papua LNG project, delayed due to the coronavirus crisis, plans to produce two gas fields, Elk and Antelope, located on the PRL-15 permit in Papua New Guinea. The gas produced will be liquefied in two liquefaction trains.
