(AOF) – TotalEnergies announced the construction of a new mechanical plastics recycling unit on its Grandpuits site (Seine-et-Marne). This new investment is in addition to those announced in June 2023 (the doubling of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production and the construction of a biomethane production unit) and is part of the company’s ambition to develop low-carbon energies and the circular economy.
The unit, scheduled to be commissioned in 2026, will produce 30,000 tonnes per year of high value-added compounds containing up to 50% recycled plastics.
A customer technical assistance and new product development center will complete this unit to guarantee the support necessary for the marketing of the new range of hybrid compounds.
