TOTW 20 FIFA 23 Team of the Week Predictions

New week and new predictions for the FIFA 23 TOTW 20 Team of the Week. As usual, EA will offer new IF cards following the results of the best professional players of the past week. For the moment, the TOTW (IF) card system seems to be the same as last year with a Featured card (highlighted) as well as fairly standard boosts depending on the level of the card. We therefore present to you our predictions for the new cards which will be available in the packs from Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Prediction : Score over the past week, 5/9.

Leaks : You can check our Team of the Week leaks to find out in advance which players will be selected by EA.

Guardians Team of the Week 20

Bartlomiej Dragowski, Spezia, Serie A

For our first selection as goalkeeper, our choice is Bartlomiej Dragowski. The Polish goalkeeper was the author of a great game in Spezia’s surprise victory against Inter, with several decisive saves.

Jonathan Bond, LA Galaxy, MLS

It is always difficult to predict the goalkeepers in the Team of the week as the choices of EA are unpredictable. Here, we opted for exoticism with an MLS player! Jonathan Bond made a perfect game, with 11 saves against Sporting Kansas City, allowing LA to bring back a point despite being totally dominating their opponent.

Defender Predictions

Benjamin Pavard, Bayern Munich, Bundesliga

If you are a football fan, you must have already seen the images of Benjamin Pavard’s two goals. The French international continues to shine in Bavaria with in particular a very nice volley at Zlatan. However, this TOTW shouldn’t really be playable, while its special Moments map remains a cheap option in DC.

Nuno Santos, Sporting CP, Liga NOS

While Portuguese clubs are in fine form in European competitions, the title fight seems definitely over in the Portuguese league given Benfica’s lead. However, good places are up for grabs and Sporting is still looking to finish in the top 3. Nuno Santos’ teammates won a big 3-0 victory against Boavista with a goal from the left defender.

Midfielders

Adrien Rabiot, Juventus, Serie A

What a season for Rabiot who continues on his good run at the World Cup. The midfielder continues to carry Juventus towards an extraordinary comeback despite the sanction. Author of two goals, the French player could get an excellent card there if the boost is substantial, while waiting for a possible TOTS in a few months.

David Neres, Benfica, Liga NOS

One of our favorite players on FIFA (his FIFA 21 Showdown was a hero club that year), David Neres continues to revive his career in the Portuguese league with 12 goals and 12 assists this year in all competitions. The Brazilian player recorded a brace last weekend, which should give him a special first card on FIFA 23.

Which Forwards in the TOTW 20?

Luis Openda, RC Lens, Ligue 1

We expected it but Luis Openda’s first season in Ligue 1 was a great success. The RC Lens player continues with a hat-trick and an assist in the big 4-0 victory in what will be his third TOTW card. Although it should be 3-3 stars again, this new version will be more than serviceable.

Harry Kane, Tottenham, Premier League

What about Harry Kane’s journey? The legendary Spurs striker recently broke the record for goals in the history of the London club and this new double against Nottingham Forrest approaches the absolute record in the Premier League. Be careful though because this TOTW card will not be as playable as his TOTY MH.

FIFA 23 Featured Map of the Week

Xavi Simons, PSV, Eredisivie

One of last year’s new features, the Team of the Week Featured card is back in FIFA 23. For TOTW 20, our pick is Xavi Simons. The former PSG player continues his solid season in the Dutch league and could finally get a TOTW card this year.

Cards that could appear in TOTW 20

We list here players who have a chance of appearing there but who, for various reasons should miss the selection of EA. The interest of listing these cards is to protect you from an investment point of view (see below) and thus potentially take some risks on less expected players.

  • Trossard, Arsenal
  • Aspas, Celta Vigo
  • David, LOSC
  • Cancelo, Bayern
  • Frimpong, Leverkusen
  • Militao, Real Madrid
  • Ter Stegen, Barcelona
  • Gvardiol, RB Leipzig

How to get TOTW cards in FIFA 23?

TOTW cards are often interesting at high level but also for DCEs as well as to achieve specific objectives in friendly match mode. Therefore, even on players whose overall rating would be quite low, it is necessary to know how to get these TOTW cards on FIFA 23.

The first source is obviously the transfer market, where you can find a player’s TOTW cards in special versions of their cards. Be careful, however, because the IF cards sell for much more than the basic version. This is explained in particular by their rarity but also by the fact that the base price (in discard) is already quite high.

A second source remains gold packs of the game, which have these special cards for one week (from Wednesday to the following Wednesday at 7 p.m.). So be careful because once this week is over, it will be impossible to drop them in packs.

Additionally, Team of the Week cards are obtainable as a reward for FUTChampion (WL) depending on your ranking. If this year, the rewards could change, EA should not remove the presence of the TOTW cards. Similarly, the weekly ranking in Rivals allows to obtain TOTW cards although again, in FUT Champion mode (red).

Finally, specific TOTW Packs will be present during the season in ECDalthough the latter are often unprofitable because they are totally random.

Investments linked to TOTW predictions on FIFA 23

If the cards of the players selected in the Team of the week are often good sources of investment, it is also possible to earn credits via the TOTW. Indeed, there are several methods to speculate on the market.

Thus, the simplest and most regular is to bet on current TOTW players’ normal Gold cards. These are not present in the packs during the week, limiting the quantity of cards. If a player is looking to use these cards for DCEs or for their team, the prices can spike a lot. So buy the cards in anticipation of this rise, speculating on TOTW’s predictions. This technique is called OOP (Out of Packs, understand outside of packs) and also works for special cards in events. The more specific the card (big league, nation and rare position), the greater its potential. For example, a player like Jonathan Claus is very interesting because he is French, from Ligue 1 and on a relatively rare DD position in the Gold card. Therefore, his price in the Gold version could easily triple in OOP.

In addition, another method is to analyze future good TOTW cards and thus speculate on the cards related to them. For example, if Haaland receives a Team of the Week card, it’s likely players will be looking to incorporate him into their FUT roster. Thus, they will also seek to link this new card with other Premier League players, Man City players or even Norwegian players in order to create the best possible links. It is therefore possible to invest in cards allowing perfect links, just before the release of the new Team of the week. This technique will be useful with the release of special maps until around mid-December, before which time Team of the Week starts to look less interesting on FIFA 23.

Note that these two strategies require good anticipation of the market, but also finding the right timing. Often the cards to buy go up quickly, so you need to plan ahead who to buy. Also, this bull run won’t last long, so it’s necessary to play for a few days and quickly sell your cards.

So much for our predictions of the players of the new FIFA 23 TOTW 20 team of the week. If as often EA will seek to muddy the waters by selecting profiles a little more obscure, we are confident that the majority of the players listed above will be available as a special card on FIFA 23. As a reminder, the TOTW 20 will be officially unveiled Wednesday at 7 p.m..
