Tower of Fantasy: what if Frigg was just a bait before the arrival of really strong characters?

The month of September is off to a flying start for Tower of Fantasy players, as a new banner of choice makes its appearance. It honors Frigg, an ultra-dynamic character, and who especially starts from very high on the Western tier lists. Nevertheless, does it deserve so much attention?

For some players, its prior nerf to the global version as well as the slew of high-flying characters that will follow are enough arguments to qualify it as a “bait”, or at least a risky investment.

Frigg gets his knees broken before he even leaves

Within the still skinny roster of playable characters on the global version of Tower of Fantasy, Frigg was about to do a lot of damage. But Hotta Studio decided to strongly nerf the character, especially if we compare his Western version to his Chinese version.

On paper it is rather “fair play” from Hotta Studio ; Nerfing a character before release means avoiding cheating on players, with a later nerf once players have invested big chunks of resources to get it.

And if it doesn’t discredit Frigg compared to the other characters currently available, this radical nerf questions us about the relevance it will have in the future meta, full of OP characters from the Chinese version.

Ridiculous in front of Saki?

Given this nerf, some considerate players wonder if Frigg will hold up against a Saki Fuwawhich may well be released sooner than expected.

Certainly, Frigg is worth the detour at the time of this writing, but she could very quickly find herself in the shadow of similar charactersbut much more impactful.
