It is said that everything on the green field will be concreted over. But the community sees it quite differently. Only private, unavailable building sites are still free. The community itself can no longer provide building sites. Every house in the town center is inhabited – rather untypical for the Waldviertel – and a single house has not (yet) been plastered. The 6.6 hectare large, new settlement area offers building sites for the next 20 years, explains Steininger. “It works in stages, initially there are 15 building sites,” he says. In all likelihood, a maximum of 70 houses will be built on the 60 parcels.
