Traffic controls – snaking lines and drugs in traffic

Serpentine lines, drug impairment and high blood alcohol levels: there were a few drivers on the streets of Salzburg again this weekend who shouldn’t have gotten behind the wheel. A motorcyclist was even on the road with almost two per thousand intus.

A 20-year-old was driving in the Katschberg tunnel without lights on Sunday afternoon and drove in serpentines. An off-duty police officer noticed him and stopped the Romanian citizen. The officials on duty who were summoned found the 20-year-old to have a blood alcohol level of 1.5. It also turned out that the Romanian has never had a driver’s license. A report is waiting for him, and he had to hand in the vehicle and key on the spot. A 36-year-old from Lungau also drove wavy lines on the B99 on Sunday – attentive road users reported this to the police. In the center of St. Michael, the officials stopped the man – and immediately noticed strong alcohol symptoms. However, the man refused an alcohol test – now he has lost his driver’s license and is being reported. During traffic checks in Anif, the officials noticed that a 29-year-old driver appeared to be drug-impaired. The drug test that followed was positive. He also did not have a driver’s license and will be reported. With almost 2 per thousand, a 40-year-old Pinzgauer got on his motorcycle and drove on the Felbertauernstraße from Lienz in the direction of Mittersill. He then lost control of his two-wheeler and fell. A police patrol was right behind him at this point. He was slightly injured in the accident and taken to the Mittersill hospital. He also lost his driver’s license and will be reported.
