Shortly before 2 p.m. the length was around 10 kilometers.
The cold and wet weather in German-speaking Switzerland is apparently driving people to warm and sunny Ticino.
On the A2 Lucerne motorway towards Gotthard there is traffic congestion between Erstfeld and Göschenen in the canton of Uri, as the TCS announced on X. The time loss is currently up to an hour and 40 minutes.
The weather forecast for the weekend is significantly better for Ticino than for German-speaking Switzerland. On Saturday it will be sunny in Lugano with temperatures of up to 18 degrees.
It is significantly cooler and rainier in German-speaking Switzerland. According to SRF Meteo, there will also be precipitation in Ticino on Sunday afternoon. Spring break is also beginning in the canton of Zurich.
