In the USA, a young boy (6) was shot dead after an argument in traffic. The six-year-old’s mother got into an argument with another driver on a highway in California, local media reported on Saturday.
The mother’s vehicle was then shot from the other car, where the little boy was sitting in the back of a raised seat and was hit. The mother took her child to the hospital, but the little one died of his gunshot wound.
The mother was reportedly on her way to drop her son off at a school in Orange about 50 kilometers southwest of Los Angeles. She was cut from another vehicle. Those involved argued with wild gestures, then one of the two occupants in the other car shot at the mother’s vehicle.
The perpetrators are still on the run
The little boy said: “Mom, my stomach hurts,” reported the mother’s sister on the local television station Fox 11. The mother stopped in a panic and found that her child was bleeding. The six-year-old died a little later. The two occupants of the other car, apparently a man and a woman, are still being searched for.
There are regular firearms attacks in the United States. A woman and her five-year-old son were injured in Washington on Tuesday after asking a man to slow down his electric scooter. The two survived. So far this year, 119 children up to and including the age of eleven have been killed by gun violence in the United States. (AFP / jmh)
