In the teaser for “The Regime,” Kate Winslet plays an authoritarian leader who is desperate to maintain control of her country.
“Since I became your Chancellor, our country has grown significantly. It’s time to show America and the world what we’re worth“. This is how the new teaser for The Regime begins, the new HBO series produced and starring Kate Winslet.
This six-episode miniseries, created by Will Tracy and directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen), tells the story of a year spent within the palace walls of a modern European regime that begins to collapse. The launch is scheduled for Monday March 4 on Prime Video via Warner Pass.
In addition to Kate Winslet, the cast includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne (in the role of the dictator’s husband), Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton and Hugh Grant. What beautiful people!
We understand from the tone of these almost two minutes that The Regime presents itself as a true political satire with a deadpan tone that is so British.
