Trailer: Pierre Niney and Blanche Gardin are editing in a truck, Michel Gondry’s Book of Solutions is revealed

Passed successfully by the last Cannes Film Festival, where it aroused many bursts of laughter, “The Book of Solutions” by Michel Gondry is revealed in a trailer centered on the crazy challenge of the characters of Pierre Niney and Blanche Gardin.

The Book of Solutions is the story of Michel Gondry. Not 100%, of course, but the director was inspired by his personal and professional difficulties during the post-production of L’Écume des jours to bring his new film to life. In which a director retires to his aunt’s house in the countryside to complete a project.

Ten years later, this story is the subject of the director’s eleventh feature film, here embodied by a burning Pierre Niney and whose supercharged performance caused a sensation at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes at the last Cannes Film Festival, where Le Livre des solutions was presented in May.

Alongside Blanche Gardin, Françoise Lebrun and Frankie Wallach, the actor performs as the alter ego of a director who is very critical of himself, in a film that is sometimes crazy, sometimes sensitive, when he speaks of mental illness. Just over a month before its release, scheduled for September 13, the trailer mainly highlights its comic aspects.

And in particular this sequence in which Marc (Pierre Niney) reveals his creation to Charlotte (Blanche Gardin): a truck in which she will be able to edit their film, using the steering wheel to come and go in the images, and the horn to cut. Pure Michel Gondry in a feature film that has everything to be one of the cinema events of the season.
