Transformers: Rise of the Beasts 2: Will we get a sequel with “Transformers 7”?

TRANSFORMERS

“Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” is to be understood as a small restart for the sci-fi action series. But does the film stand on its own or are other “Transformers” sequels already in the works?

  • “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” has been in German cinemas since June 8, 2023.
  • The film is chronologically located between “Bumblebee” and the first “Transformers” film, but requires no previous knowledge.
  • But does the story of Noah and Elena continue?

Since the first “Transformers” live-action film was released in 2007, further “Transformers” films have followed with reliable regularity. Sometimes two years passed, sometimes three years, between “Transformers: The Last Knight” and “Bumblebee” there was even only one year. After that, however, we experienced a longer “Transformers” break, although “Bumblebee” was actually very well received by the fans.

Now, five years later, “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” is finally appearing – a reboot, located between “Bumblebee” and “Transformers”. While the film isn’t the Bumblebee sequel some were hoping for, Paramount Pictures learned from past mistakes and made sure Rise of the Beasts didn’t turn into an endless battle of material, as is often the case in Michael Bay’s films was the case.

Thus, most fans are also very satisfied with “Rise of the Beasts” and hope for a sequel, which with luck will not be another five years in coming. But what are the chances?

Will ‘Rise of the Beasts’ continue through ‘Transformers 7’?

The good news is that “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” is basically understood as the beginning of a new trilogy. Although the film doesn’t end with a big cliffhanger and thus largely stands on its own, the story can – and should – go on.

Whether that happens is up to the audience. “Rise of the Beasts” hasn’t been in cinemas long enough to judge the success or failure of the production. In addition, it has to be considered that the “Transformers” films are extremely popular, especially in China; the Chinese box office revenue alone might justify a sequel.

In any case, as early as 2024, another “Transformers” adventure will continue. “Transformers One” is an animated feature film that has no connection to the real films. In the English original, the Autobots are voiced by stars such as Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson.

In the meantime it should be certain that Paramount and Hasbro will not simply drop the “Transformers” series. In the unlikely event that “Rise of the Beasts” fails at the box office, we expect a readjustment and not the end of Transformers itself.
