Now Travis Scott has broken his silence. For the first time he spoke in detail about the tragedy at the Astroworld Festival.

The rapper Travis Scott (30) spoke in detail for the first time about his impressions of the Astroworld disaster, in which ten people died in a mass panic. In an interview with radio presenter Charlamagne tha God (43), he first explains, that he hadn’t heard anything of the tragedy during his concert. Someone told him through his headphones that he should cancel after the guest appearance by Drake (35). He was never told why.

But he is not responsible for what happened. Just for wanting to find out what went wrong. There was nothing he could have done to prevent the mass panic. In the one-hour conversation, the rapper also said that he had already met with the bereaved and injured: “I just want to always be there for them, I will solve this problem and make sure that something like this doesn’t happen in the future.”

Travis Scott: “It’s tough”

In the run-up to the festival, he and his team had focused on the artists and creativity, not on safety and logistics. When asked if he could ever get over what happened, Scott said, “It’s tough. I never meant to hurt anyone. I just wanted them to have a good time with my performance.”
