Trial in Wels – caught fish thief threatened with corona cough

The Hungarian citizen caught a rainbow trout on February 24th in Ohlsdorf in the fishing area of ​​the “Friends of the Gmundner Traun”. During the closed season and without a permit! When he was confronted by a fisheries supervisory body, there was an exchange of words and the threat with the corona cough: “Then I’ll cough at you”, the angler is said to have shown little understanding during the inspection. He was reported, the trial took place on Tuesday in Wels.

Resistance to state power
In the trial, not only the serious interference with foreign hunting and fishing law was accused, but also attempted resistance to the state authority. In the meantime, the 32-year-old black fisherman had thought about it and confessed to the single judge. The sentence was therefore six months imprisonment, albeit conditionally for three years. In addition, the “murder weapon”, his fishing rod, was also confiscated.
