This launch comes a year after Donald Trump was banned from social media. In March 2021, the latter had seen his Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channel accounts deleted one by one after the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, the former president being suspected of having incited his participants to violent acts.
It is the company Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) which is in charge of the development of this new social network. A gradual deployment
The first public version of the application was expected this Monday on the Android and iOS stores. But the platform will not be fully operational until the end of March. In its first version, the social network should allow you to publish posts. Direct messages and post editing will be implemented in future releases.
The information surrounding this newcomer to the galaxy of social networks is scarce. Gray areas have been raised by the American media and several experts in the sector. In particular, the sources of funding for TMTG are not known.
Currently, the Truth Social site does not appear to support French and European users. An error is generated when an Internet user tries to consult the website. Similarly, the application was not available in France on the App Store on Monday, despite a start of deployment in the United States.
