The European Football Championship 2024 will soon start in Germany. In keeping with this, Deutsche Telekom announced the first of three channels for UEFA EURO 2024. “FUSSBALL.TV 1” starts with a preliminary program on MagentaTV from April 15th – two months before the opening game.
According to Telekom, FUSSBALL.TV 1 offers a mix of current information, new formats, sports documentaries and highlights from the history of the European Championship. The latter would be presented by Béla Réthy, among others, and enriched with her own anecdotes.
The cult commentator from ZDF announced his resignation after the World Cup in Qatar in 2022. Now the TV comeback is taking place on MagentaTV. What’s special: The top historical games will be completely re-scored, told and prepared with Réthy and other experts such as Christian Straßburger, Thomas Wagner and Wolff Fuss.
FUSSBALL.TV 1 without additional fees
The channel FUSSBALL.TV 1 is included in all MagentaTV tariffs, there are no additional fees. According to Arnim Butzen, Telekom’s TV boss, only MagentaTV shows all 51 games of the tournament live and in UHD quality. Five games will also be shown exclusively on the IPTV provider, including the decisive games in the German group and a round of 16.
The content will be shown on three channels FUSSBALL.TV 1 to 3 during the European Championship. In addition to the live broadcasts, there are additional offers such as a tactics feed and a reaction show.
The parallel games on the third group match day will also both be broadcast on MagentaTV. There will also be an exclusive conference to watch. However, if you want to follow the games in UHD, you will need a MagentaTV box from the provider.
