TV tips: Crime "All meat is grass" on ZDF

A commissioner swings up to avenger in "All Meat is Grass" (ZDF). In "Who is Hanna?" (kabel eins) a young girl is being trained as a professional killer. In "Population 436" (Tele 5) the population of a village puzzles.

8:15 p.m., ZDF, All meat is grass, thriller

Mathis Roland (Fritz Hammel), the obnoxious snooper who had blackmailed Anton Galba (Wolfgang Böck) and his secret lover with their relationship, dies after falling down a flight of stairs. Panicked, Galba, head of the Dornbirn wastewater treatment plant, disappears the body in the chopper – meat turns into grass. Police officer Nathan Weiß (Tobias Moretti) investigated the case and suspected Galba from the start. However, there is also a creep in Weiss' environment that he would like to get rid of. And so he instructs Galba to take care of it.

8:15 p.m., kabel eins, Who is Hanna ?, action thriller

15-year-old Hanna (Saoirse Ronan) has spent her whole life in the icy wilderness of the Arctic Circle. Here she was educated by her father Erik (Eric Bana) completely isolated from the world for survival under the most adverse conditions. The reason: Hanna should take revenge on his former colleague, the CIA agent Marissa Wiegler (Cate Blanchett), who murdered her mother many years ago. When the girl turns on a tracking transmitter one day, Erik's revenge plan starts rolling inexorably. Wiegler sends a special command to capture the renegade ex-agent, but only Hanna finds that in the forest hiding place.

Rochus Siwak (Jan Josef Liefers), known as Rocco, a rather unsuccessful rock musician and life artist, ends up in a retirement home, where he is to serve a prison term as a social service. Soon he gets violent with the home management and nursing staff. In particular, the resolute, but definitely attractive sister Marina (Ursula Strauss) is not ready to be fooled by the rogue Rocco. But he gradually realizes that it can be worthwhile to take the elderly seriously.

8:15 p.m., arte, Toni Erdmann, tragic comedy

What to do if you want to get closer to your estranged daughter as a father? For the retired music teacher Winfried (Peter Simonischek) who lives alone, the answer seems obvious: They are paid a visit to her reputable management consultancy in Bucharest – disguised with prank teeth and sunglasses. It quickly becomes clear that with this father-daughter team not only different concepts of life but whole worlds collide.

The population in the small village of Rockwell Falls has remained constant at around 436 inhabitants for around a hundred years. Census Steve (Jeremy Sisto) is commissioned by the state to find out why. The people in the Kaff are polite but also suspicious. For a good reason, the town holds a dark secret.
