Luis Trenker (Tobias Moretti), South Tyrolean mountaineering legend, actor and director, traveled to the Venice Film Festival in the summer of 1948. He wants to offer Eva Braun's diaries, which she allegedly entrusted to him during the last days of the war, to a Hollywood agent for filming. At the same time, the Munich district court is negotiating the authenticity of these diaries. The director Leni Riefenstahl (Brigitte Hobmeier) feels vilified by the implication that she was Hitler's lover and appears as a joint plaintiff. She accuses her ex-lover Luis Trenker of having forged the diaries out of revenge and jealousy.
