Faced with such enthusiasm, Twitch decided to make it easier to set up this kind of stream by launching a beta of the “Charity” feature. Launched with a handful of users on Twitch, the feature will offer a list of associations, limited at first, but which should grow in the coming weeks.
“Charity” will be available in a special new tab for streamers and will make starting a charity stream much faster. All the necessary procedures are centralized and avoid laborious procedures. In three clicks, the streamer can then determine the amount to be collected and the beneficiary association. But the feature also makes life easier for viewers.
With “Charity” mode, each user in front of the screen will see a “Donate to Charity” button. Donations will then be made via PayPal Giving Fund, a single reliable platform that makes each donation made transparent and avoids unpleasant surprises of misappropriation of money. This new system also makes it possible to reduce transaction costs during an online payment, Twitch specifying that the platform does not take any commission on this type of operation.
A system that allows everyone to benefit from it: to facilitate the life and the mental load of streamers, to make user donations transparent and easy to access and to limit the number of sites and platforms necessary for this type of event , while reducing taxes and other additional costs on donation money. The feature is currently available to only a handful of content creators, but may soon make it possible to create your own Z Event at home.
