Elon Musk announced on his account Twitter that he will soon resign from his role as CEO

Elon Musk’s folkloric reign at the head of Twitter seems to be coming to an end, according to the person concerned.

Elon Musk bends to the decision of his subscribers and seeks a successor

On the night of Sunday December 18 to Monday December 19, the billionaire organized a poll on his Twitter account to let his millions of subscribers decide whether he should keep his post as CEO of the social network or leave the presidency.

With 57% of “no”, the answer was unequivocal, but Elon Musk did not immediately wish to comment on the news, contrary to his habits. On the contrary, the boss of Tesla and SpaceX indicated that he was thinking about reserving the votes only for paying Twitter Blue subscribers, his first initiative as a leader which was more than freshly welcomed by the community.

After a few hours of reflection, Musk would have changed his mind and now plans to leave his post in the coming weeks. He made the announcement on his own account.

A return expected by Tesla shareholders

Obviously, the news is accompanied by a provocative tweet as only the businessman is capable of today. Elon Musk therefore indicates that he is looking for someone ” pretty stupid to succeed him before giving up his place. Once the person has been chosen, he will only take care of the server and software teams.

It’s been several days since rumors from the hallway indicate that Elon Musk is looking for a way out to get out of the operational direction of Twitter. Perhaps Sunday’s poll was a diversion to get off to a quicker start, while keeping our heads held high. Musk will thus be able to take refuge behind the “voice of the people” and highlight his respect for freedom of expression.

While many Twitter followers will surely applaud this decision, Tesla investors must also be very happy with the news. By freeing up time, the entrepreneur will be able to take over the daily management of the car manufacturer, whose stock market value has fallen by 65% since the beginning of the year.
