Twitter is currently preparing a new feature, called “Notes”.

This would make it possible to publish long articles and overcome the 280-character limit.

“Articles” soon on Twitter?

At the end of 2017, Twitter changed the way it works by increasing the maximum message size from 140 to 280 characters. Soon, and while waiting one day for the arrival of an “Edit” button, Twitter could launch a new function, called “Notes”, which would allow you to publish longer content, like a real article.

According TechCrunch, this new feature would offer users the ability to create posts using a proper layout and including media, which can then be posted to Twitter and shared with people who follow them. The function would be under test, with a view to being publicly deployed in the (more or less) near future.

After facilitating the development of the now famous threads with a dedicated compose option, Twitter could give rich content a chance, allowing users to natively and easily enjoy a longer article, without having to go through a Thread Reader App type bot. To be continued.
