Twitter teams up with Shopify to speed up online shopping

Social networks, new temples of shopping. The trend has grown more and more in recent months and Twitter is no exception. The platform has teamed up with Shopify to boost the sale of merchants’ products.

Twitter wants to follow the movement when it comes to e-commerce. While shopping on social networks is one of the biggest trends of 2022, Twitter announces a new collaboration with Shopify, the e-commerce platform.

The objective of this partnership is to allow merchants on Shopify to link their account to their Twitter profile to display their products for sale. The twittos will only have to click on a product to finalize the purchase. For this, they will still be redirected to the product page on Shopify. Merchants will be able to display a selection of products in a kind of carousel format with Shop Spotlight or offer a dedicated product page with Twitter Shops.

Save time and one less step

One of the advantages of this collaboration for merchants will be the ability to display the products available on their Shopify account simultaneously, without having to update the list on Twitter separately. Saving time and one less step for merchants.

By agreeing to connect to their professional account on Twitter via Shopify, they will be able to take advantage of a wide range of practical options, such as filling in their contact details, their hours and the address. At this time, only Shopify merchants residing in the United States will be able to take advantage of this new option.

“Reaching potential customers where they are is critical to the success of Shopify merchants. Twitter is the place for conversations, and the connection between conversations and commerce is vital. Our partnership with Twitter, along with the launch of the Twitter sales channel, will allow merchants to seamlessly integrate commerce into the conversations they already have on the platform.”said Amir Kabbara, chief product officer at Shopify.

This is not Shopify’s first collaboration. The e-commerce site participated in TikTok’s For You Summit event in July 2021.
