On the night of December 10-11, 2021, the state of Kentucky was hit by a series of devastating tornadoes, killing at least 88 people. In the chaos, two babies were found safe and sound outside, hidden in their grandmother’s tub guarding them.
This is the story of two miraculous babies. On the night of December 10 to 11, the State of Kentucky southeastern United States, as well as others in the central and southern parts of the country, were hit by violent tornadoes. If Governor Andy Beshear has stated that it is “the deadliest series of tornadoes” in Kentucky history, causing the deaths of at least 88 people, there were also many survivors, like Kaden, 15 months, and Dallas, 3 months.
When the disaster occurred, the two children were looked after by their grandmother, Clara Lutz. She had placed her grandchildren in her bathtub to best protect them against strong gusts of wind. She then covered them with a blanket, pillows and a Bible. Unfortunately, the power of the tornadoes was too strong, the tub was torn off and swept away with the two babies inside.

A miraculous rescue
Asked by 14News, the grandmother said she had felt the rumbling and shaking of the floor of her house. Then it all happened very quickly. She saw the tub rise, she couldn’t do anything about it. She pleaded with God to bring her grandchildren back to her safe and sound. And his prayers have apparently been heard.
Once the disaster had passed, at Clara Lutz’s home, two deputy sheriffs and two residents searched the area for the infants. “I hear crying or screaming from afar “said Deputy Troy Blue in the video taken during the rescue. They found the bathtub overturned outside in the courtyard of the house, they turned it over and two babies were in it. Their wounds were minimal. Dallas, the smallest, had a lump on the back of his head that was bleeding. He was immediately taken to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. More fear than harm. The two children have since returned home with their parents, they are in good health.
