While playing in the garden of his maternal grandparents’ house, in the town of Vernet, located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the little 2 and a half year old boy escaped the vigilance of adults and mysteriously disappeared on July 8, 2023. He would have been seen for the last time walking in a diaper in one of the streets of the hamlet.
Several witnesses were interviewed and different avenues were explored by investigators. But the child still cannot be found. Recently, the gendarmes of the Marseille research section reportedly studied the profile of two Bulgarian workers having carried out masonry work in a residence located 200 meters from the house of Émile’s family. They were there the day he disappeared.

The hypothesis of a road accident

The workers are said to have knocked down the young boy when he was walking alone on the Haut-Vernet road, before hiding his body under the slab of this house, placed during the work.

Furthermore, one of the vehicles used by the two individuals had traces and some sort of hair on the front bumper. Enough to arouse the interest of the gendarmes, who carried out analyzes to find out more. But according to a source close to the investigation, these elements come from an animal.
Thus, if the Bulgarian workers were the subject of scrupulous investigations, no “probative element” has not been found against them yet.
