This refusal to comply came after a check in a dog breeding run by a British couple in Vidaillat, by the Departmental Directorate of Employment, Labour, Solidarity and Population Protection (DETSPP). Control intervened after several reports of the municipality for two years.
Refusing to present his identity papers, the 51-year-old man fled at the wheel of an Audi A3, knocking down the two gendarmes on his way.

The two gendarmes, transported to the Guéret hospital center to have “slight injuries” noted, have now been released from the hospital, one of them suffering after diagnosis of facial fractures, according to the gendarmerie.
According to Martine Laporte, mayor of the town, the fugitive would be none other than Robert Hendy-Freegard, a Briton who arrived in Vidaillat with his partner in 2015 and “well known to the police services of the United Kingdom for acts of fraud on several women”. Friday morning, the gendarmes of Creuse, Corrèze, Haute-Vienne, Allier, Indre and Puy-de-Dôme were still looking for him. An investigation was opened by the Guéret prosecutor’s office for “attempted intentional homicide on a person holding public authority”.
