Two injured – skier crashed into group of children and fled

Serious skiing accident on Saturday morning in Sölden, Tyrol! A previously unknown man crashed his skis into a group of ski school children on a red slope. Two children (6 and 9 years old) were injured. The police are now looking for witnesses.

It was around 9:20 a.m. when the collision occurred on the red-marked slope No. 4 in the Sölden ski area. A group of ski school children had stopped at a snow cannon on the piste around 100 to 200 meters above the “Gratlift mountain station” when the previously unknown skier, sliding on his back across the piste, crashed into three children “One of the children, a six-year-old Austrian, suffered a broken arm, a nine-year-old student suffered a bruise and one child was uninjured,” the police said. The unknown skier said something to the group in a Dutch accent, but immediately strapped his skis back on and left the scene of the accident without taking care of the children or leaving his details.Police are asking for informationThe unknown person is around 40 to 50 years old old, around 1.80 meters tall and was dressed in black ski pants and a black anorak. Witnesses to the accident or the fleeing skier are asked to contact the police station in Sölden (Tel. 059133/7108).
