"A Painful Development": Tyrese Gibson and his wife Samantha have announced that they will part ways in the future.
Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson (42, "Fast & Furious") and his wife Samantha have split up. The ex-couple released a joint statement announcing their decision to end the relationship after nearly four years of marriage. This is "a painful and significant development in our life," says the statement on Instagram. "After much thought, consideration and prayer, we unfortunately made the difficult decision to officially separate and get a divorce."
"It is our intention to remain best friends and a strong parenting team," it says on a photo in which the actor presses his wife a kiss on the cheek. "We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and are deeply grateful for the four years that we were married to each other." They would have experienced "a journey with ups and downs", "which none of us would have undertaken with anyone else". The two assert that they have "a lot of love and respect for one another".
A common daughter
"We have both grown tremendously in this relationship. We have shared so many wonderful memories and moments and are also looking forward to seeing the great future that everyone has in front of them," both explain in the statement. Tyrese and Samantha Gibson were married in February 2017 and they have two-year-old daughter Soraya. Gibson also has a 13-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
