Refused help, brought to camp with the last of his strength
He immediately contacted his brother and father, who were waiting at the base camp. “They found out what group he belonged to and asked for help. But this was refused. Then I realized I was the only one who could help him.” So he grabbed the man – who turned out to be a Pakistani – and pulled and carried him through the area down into the valley. Further down he met an American who had medication with him, then another joined him with oxygen. This is how they saved his life.
