Uber increases the price of its rides

In order to support its drivers in the face of soaring fuel prices, Uber has decided to increase the price of its trips. A temporary exceptional contribution of 75 euro cents will be applied to each trip in addition to the price of the race from March 25, 2022.

As of March 25, a small supplement will be added to the price of an Uber trip. A temporary exceptional contribution of 75 euro cents will indeed be automatically applied to each race, the company said in a press release relayed by Le Figaro.

The idea for the American VTC company is to support its drivers in the face of the sharp rise in fuel prices. Uber estimates that once combined, these contributions should bring in more than 100 euros net per month for each of its drivers.

An international measure

Uber’s most active drivers, namely those making more than 50 trips per week, will also benefit from an energy check of 100 euros which will be paid by the company on March 31. These efforts complement the government’s discount measures of 15 cents per litre, Uber said in its press release.

As a reminder, these measures announced by Prime Minister Jean Castex on Saturday March 13 must come into force on April 1. This temporary increase of 75 centimes per trip is not limited to the French borders, specifies Le Figaro. A similar measure has been taken in the United States and Canada. This increase should apply for two months.
