Uber
continues to diversify. The application, which was launched as a transport service only, then declined in meal delivery a few years ago, and it does not intend to stop there.
Always with the aim of offering the most complete service possible, the American giant has just announced the launch of Uber Explore, a new tab that will highlight the entertainment and restaurants of a few handpicked American cities.
Uber Explore, a feature to find activities
The application will thus offer users the opportunity to discover nearby museums, sports events, bars, shows and other activities, and even to buy tickets and make reservations directly from Uber. The more they use this new feature and Uber Eats, the more the algorithm will refine the recommendations, knowing that Uber Explore directly integrates Yelp, the site for participatory reviews of local businesses, to guide them in their choices.
To better navigate, all the points of interest will be divided into several themes: food and drink, art and culture, sports activities, experiences, music and shows and much more. The feature will show the distance between where a user wants to go and their current location along with an estimated fare on Uber.
And to make people want to travel with its service, those who choose to travel from the application to one of the establishments on offer will benefit from a reduction of up to 15%, for a maximum amount of 10 euros.
