UberX Share, the return of the shared ride from the leader in VTC

More than two years after the disappearance of UberPool, the leader of VTC is relaunching, this Thursday, August 25, 2022, the shared race. First launched in Paris, the service is now called UberX Share.

Is the world after nothing other than the world before with a new naming ? Now that the Covid crisis has all but disappeared from radar screens, Uber has decided to relaunch its ride-sharing service. Previously known as UberPool, it returns as UberX Share. The formula hardly changes.

As at the time of UberPool, the user who orders a ride can either travel alone or in the company of other passengers. But it is not possible to get on with a loved one in the vehicle, and you will then have to turn to other services like UberX. Uber, however, indicates that it has corrected some of the inconveniences mentioned at the time, such as too long detours or the fact of sometimes walking a few minutes to a meeting point.

Between 10 and 30% reduction

“Once the order is placed, the passenger receives a notification if another user is going in the same direction and shares the ride. If this is the case, the price of the race is automatically reduced and the amount of this reduction varies according to the detour: the longer it is, the greater the reduction., says Uber’s statement. On the price side precisely, a reduction of 10% compared to a classic race is mentioned. It could go up to 30% depending on the detour made to pick up another passenger.

This UberX Share option should appear for French users as of this Thursday, August 25. Paris is thus the first European city to host this revisited UberPool. Remember that the latter had precisely closed its doors in 2020 with the Covid-19 pandemic, the activity not being compatible with health measures.
