Ubisoft: a new Battle Royale and a sequel to Ghost Recon Breakpoint?

A few weeks ago, rumors announced a few dozen games in Ubisoft’s boxes for the coming years. It seems that many of them will revolve around Tom Clancy franchises, unsurprisingly, but not only. Earlier this week, several sources confirmed with Tom Henderson that they were working on a new Battle Royale-like game to replace Hyper Scape, which recently shut down due to failure.

Pathfinder, a new BR to replace Hyper Scape

Forgotten and announced to stop at the end of the month without causing a big stir, Hyper Scape should be replaced by a title named provisionally Pathfinder. Like other rumors we’ve already heard from Ubi, the game would be a BR where teams of 4 would be parachuted onto a concentric mapwhose goal is to return to the center to face a final boss. But in the meantime, it would be PvP that would take over, since the teams must go through doors that open randomly and therefore change the path each game.

In addition to this game, and the other PvPvE The Division Heartland (planned for this winter), we obviously find XDefiant, whose brand image has changed slightly, but also Ghost Recon Frontlinea free-to-play BR in the Ghosts universe.

Project OVER, the sequel to Ghost Recon?

Today, several sources also announced to Kotaku than the Parisian studio of Ubisoft was already working on a sequel to the seriesafter the announcement this week of the discontinuation of support for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, in particular because of the bad press linked to the launch of the extensive program of NFT via the game. The project would be in development for a year and would be released for the fiscal year 2023, i.e. after October 2022.

The codename, OVER, was previously revealed in the massive leak of Nvidia GeForce files Last year. An announcement could be made soon, and could even take over Frontline, whose beta phases did not have the expected enthusiasm.
