Ubisoft has very good news for you

XDefiant, Ubisoft’s next big game, is on very good track and according to the studio, it could even arrive very soon. What can we learn about this?

The development of XDefiant, the long-awaited game from Ubisoft San Francisco, is nearing completion. Mark Rubin, the game’s executive producer, recently shared some encouraging news. All following the last server testing session, which took place from April 19 to 21. And obviously, it’s always encouraging when you’re impatiently waiting for a game.

XDefiant is coming soon

According to him, the announcement of the release date of the XDefiant game is planned for “very soon”. This testing session was crucial to evaluating the stability and efficiency of the game’s servers on a large scale. The results have been generally positive, although Rubin admitted there are still some adjustments to be finalized. These adjustments, which he describes as “fairly direct tuning” operations, should be completed quickly, if not already done.

Rubin also used a musical metaphor to compare the game’s old and new network infrastructures. He talked about going from an “old guitar that’s a little beat up but tuned correctly” to a “new guitar” that needs retuning. The testing session identified three main issues: Delta-01 errors can worsen latency issues. Health bars updating late (making it appear as if players’ bullets were not dealing any damage), and a “not aggressive enough” matchmaking system. Which resulted in higher than desired response times for some players.

However, Rubin noted that these issues were largely resolved by the final day of testing. And the development team plans to make additional improvements before and after the game’s launch. are partly due to what some inside sources describe as a relentless quest to compete with titles like Call of Duty. And the addition of features deemed superfluous, which sometimes compromised the stability of the game.
