Udo Lindenberg is to become an honorary citizen of Hamburg. “He shaped Hamburg and Hamburg shaped him,” explains Prime Minister Peter Tschentscher.

Udo Lindenberg (75) receives a great honor: Hamburg’s mayor Peter Tschentscher (55, SPD) proposes honorary citizenship for the singer’s 75th birthday. As soon as the Corona situation allows, the Senate wants to comply with this request and give Lindenberg honorary citizenship, it says in an official statement from the Hamburg Senate Chancellery.
