UFC 270: Ciryl Gane-Francis Ngannou, “one of the biggest shocks ever seen” according to Dana White

Dana White says the heavyweight clash between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane was one of the biggest fights ever for the premier class title.

After the first evening of the year at the UFC (UFC Vegas 46), the boss of the American organization answered a few questions from journalists and obviously many of them related to the clash between the Cameroonian and the Frenchman next week ( Saturday, January 22 in Anaheim).

And for Dana White, this UFC 270 poster between defending champion Francis Ngannou and undefeated prodigy Ciryl Gane is simply one of the best ever.

“(This title fight) is one of the biggest ever, I think,” he said in comments transcribed by La Sueur. I just talked to someone backstage about it. You can hardly write a better screenplay than this. You have two guys who come from the same gym, who trained together and who don’t like each other anymore. There’s all this animosity between them.”

Dana White then played the comparison game between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane. Without giving his prognosis.

“You have a guy who on one hit… I mean, a guy with vicious knockout power who is going to meet a guy who, stylistically, is probably the best striker at heavyweight. You couldn’t have had a better story, you couldn’t have had a better match-up in terms of style.
