UK announces £40bn liquidity plan for power companies

“Today I am announcing that together with the Bank of England, we will introduce a new scheme worth up to £40 billion to ensure that businesses operating in the wholesale markets of the Energy have the liquidity they need to manage price volatility,” Ms. Truss said.

“This will stabilize the markets and reduce the likelihood that energy retailers will need our help as they did last winter,” she told parliament.
