LVIV, Ukraine, March 27 (Reuters) – Ukraine is ready to discuss adopting a neutral status as part of a peace deal with Russia, but this will need to be guaranteed by third parties and be put to a referendum, President Volodimir Zelensky said in an interview broadcast on Sunday.

“Security guarantees and neutrality, a non-nuclear status for our country. We are ready to go there. This is the most important point,” he told Russian journalists during a videoconference. 90 minutes.

The Ukrainian head of state also said that the Russian invasion had caused the destruction of Russian-speaking cities in Ukraine and stressed that the damage was worse than that of the Russian wars in Chechnya.
