(Reuters) – Ukraine’s President Volodimir Zelensky and military officials said Ukrainian forces shot down three Russian Sukhoi Su-34 tactical bombers in the south of the country on Friday.

The Russian military did not mention the incident. Russian bloggers, however, acknowledged the loss and analysts suggested Patriot missiles were likely used.

Reuters was unable to independently confirm this information.

During his daily address, Volodimir Zelensky congratulated the air defense unit of the Odessa region for downing the planes in the Kherson region.
