Four Russians have been arrested again in northern Norway for taking unauthorized photos of various objects. Extensive photo material was confiscated from them, police officer Gaute Rydmark told TV2. However, the four Russians denied having done anything illegal and instead pretended to be ordinary tourists. Last week, two Russians were arrested in Norway in different incidents, who had used drones and sometimes taken photos of the Norwegian military’s Bell helicopters. In Norway, drones have repeatedly been sighted on energy infrastructure systems, including on offshore oil and gas platforms. These incidents and the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea have prompted the country to increase security.

For the fourth time in a day, an air alarm went off in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. According to the authorities, air defenses are deployed around the city of over a million inhabitants to intercept incoming drones from the Russian armed forces. A downing of such a drone is reported from the town of Brovary on the eastern outskirts of the city. Four people were killed in drone attacks on Kyiv in the morning. In the evening there was also an air alert over the southern regions of Mykolaiv and Odessa. Explosions can be heard in Odessa. According to the authorities, an object of the energy supply was hit in the central Ukrainian region of Dnepropetrovsk on the day. “A fire broke out, the damage is extensive,” writes Governor Mykola Lukaschuk on Telegram.

The death toll has risen to four after a Russian fighter jet crashed over the Russian city of Yeysk on the Sea of Azov. Six people are still missing. 72 apartments are damaged, according to regional civil protection. The Ministry of Defense in Moscow confirmed the crash. When taking off from a nearby air base, one of two engines caught fire.

The US has strongly condemned the recent attacks by Russia on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and elsewhere in Ukraine. They demonstrated once again the brutality of Russian President Vladimir Putin, says White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre. “We will continue to support the Ukrainian people and ensure that they have what they need to continue their courageous struggle,” she said. On Friday, the United States announced new military aid worth up to $725 million (€745.6 million). Russia launched renewed attacks on Ukraine on Monday. In addition to missiles, Moscow is increasingly using combat drones this time.
