Ukraine war: Partisan warfare against Putin’s army

With bloody attacks and acts of sabotage, underground fighters are increasingly unnerving the occupying forces. But the longer-term prospects for the resistance are uncertain.

The area around Kyiv, here a picture from Bucha, became a mass grave for Russian soldiers and tanks. The area lends itself well to ambush attacks – the challenges are greater in the south-east.

War has been raging in Ukraine for three months and the record for the Russian invasion forces is extremely mixed. While the army had to retreat from the capital region in a hurry and is only advancing gradually in the Donbass, shortly after the attack it succeeded in conquering large parts of the areas on the Black Sea coast.
