Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister calls on Playstation, Xbox and esports to sanction Russia

Today, on Twitter, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister is calling on Xbox and Playstation to pull out of the Russian market as punishment after declaring war on Ukraine.

Mykhailo Fedorov is the current Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine but also its Minister of Digital Transformation. This Wednesday is in an open letter posted on Twitter that the latter calls directly Xbox and Playstation to sanction Russia. He asks the two companies to stop any distribution agreements within the countryin retaliation while Ukraine and the latter are still at war.

This week, many studios have already mobilized and provided assistance to Ukraine and making donations to various organizations, like Wargaming.net for example. The world ofesports has also provided support to the country, in particular with many structures that have shown their support or even pro players, like s1mple, who made many donations to the Ukrainian army. Tournament organizers, such as BLAST, have also banned Russian teams from entering their competitions.

According to Mykhailo Fedorov, “Russia has declared war not only on Ukraine but also to the civilized world“.
