Ulysses 31 nostalgia quiz: how well do you remember the animated series?

Ulysses 31, the Franco-Japanese cartoon about Homer’s famous hero, transposed to the 31st century, celebrated its fortieth anniversary last year. Do you still remember many of the adventures of Odysseus and his companions?

A few decades ago, you sometimes had to be patient to discover a new series. Because if today, each new season of Stranger Things, for example, is offered in its entirety on a given date to Netflix subscribers, allowing them to binge-watch a dozen episodes in one go, it was far to be the case for a cartoon like Ulysses 31.

Indeed, to discover an entire episode of the adventures of Ulysses and his companions, young children of the 80s needed a full week, the program being divided into five-minute segments broadcast each evening from 7:55 p.m. to 8 p.m. A real lesson in patience for a whole generation!

The Franco-Japanese cartoon was broadcast on French television from 1981. It was inspired by the famous Greek hero Ulysses, told by the poet Homer in his work The Odyssey, but transposed into the future of the 31st century.

As he returns to Earth in his ship, in the company of his crew and his son Telemachus, Odysseus provokes the wrath of the Gods. Zeus then condemns him to wander in Olympus, while all his companions find themselves plunged into a permanent sleep.

It is then a whole series of trials and adventures that our heroes will have to go through, thwarting the many traps set by Zeus and the Gods, to try to find their way back to planet Earth.

We could have asked you 31 questions for this quiz devoted to this cartoon from our childhood, but we will limit ourselves to nine. Will you be able to thwart all the traps set by the quiz gods?
