Hélène confesses

Laurine has been on cloud nine since Romain gave her a pretty necklace. But the latter actually has an idea behind his head. Indeed, the young man would like Laurine to help him get into Hélène’s room for 15 minutes. Mistaking him for an undercover journalist, Laurine refuses because she has no desire to have problems because of him.

Meanwhile, Yann and Thierry managed to find the arms dealer who sold a revolver to Hélène. He also confirmed to the police that he had given him a Dan Wesson 715 a year ago.

For his part, Ulysse informs Alix that he has spotted an encrypted code on several documents on Christian Peyrac’s USB key. If he thinks it corresponds to a bank account number, Alix believes on the contrary that it is GPS coordinates.

At the hospital, Yann questions Hélène who admits to having bought a weapon for shooting. Furthermore, she admits to having used it to kill Christian. When Lieutenant Cross wants to know if it was she who fired first, Hélène confirms it to him. The problem is that the weapon that killed Christian Peyrac is an automatic while Hélène bought a revolver. She therefore could not have killed the art dealer as she indicates. Faced with the police officer’s questions, Hélène loses patience and asks the police officer to leave. When David arrives, he offers to give her a sedative to relieve her.

Back in the break room, David confides to Jennifer that Hélène confessed to the police that she had killed Christian. However, the nurse cannot believe his guilt. A discussion that did not escape Romain.

At the police station, Yann confides to Commissioner Becker that he does not really believe Hélène’s confession. In fact, the policeman fears having put too much pressure on him. As Hélène’s version does not stick, Commissioner Becker suggests hearing her again when she leaves the hospital to see if she confirms her testimony. For her part, Yann will try to see if she has bought another weapon.

At the end of the day, Claudine contacts Hervé Chanteux and manages to convince him to testify.

When night falls, Ulysses deciphers the code hidden by Christian. These are the GPS coordinates of Montbard-sur-Lez, a village located 30 km from Montpellier. Certain that Christian has hidden his money there, Alix and Ulysse decide to go there the next evening. What they don’t know is that Romain is listening to their conversation.

Ludo finds a key witness

At the farm, William and Élodie read the many messages of support they received following the call for witnesses. However, these are not messages that could be used to file a complaint. Fortunately, William contacted his farmer friends, many of whom were in the same situation. If one has the same cancer as him, the others suffer from skin cancer or lung problems. Although they are reluctant, William still hopes to convince them to testify.

For his part, Ludo meets Hervé Chanteux, a chemist who worked for the Engrais Plus brand. He says that the year he arrived, two manufacturing and packaging workers went on long-term sick leave. In the years that followed, there were more and more. By analyzing the components of the product, the chemist found that the level of glyphosate was higher than average.

When he discovered all this, Hervé alerted management and proposed an alternative: replace glyphosate with products that were much less toxic for workers, farmers and the ecosystem. An avenue refused by the company because it would have reduced their margin. Given his insistence, company officials began to harass him and then offered him redundancy with a large check and a confidentiality clause. On the verge of burnout, he had no choice but to accept.

While Ludo encourages him to testify, Hervé refuses because he is still subject to the confidentiality clause. After promising not to say anything without his agreement, Ludo gives him Claudine Becker’s contact details in case he changes his mind.

Subsequently, Ludo meets Élodie and Claudine at the BGL office and tells them about the interview he had with Hervé. As Hervé’s testimony is crucial for the future, Claudine suggests calling him to change his mind.

Not far from there, Mr. Bienvenue, the CEO of Engrais Plus, meets with Maître Levars to file a defamation complaint against Midi Libre and the environmentalists behind this article. Having no way of convicting them, the lawyer advises him to let things settle down.
