Since June 13, the ROG Ally has been available for sale. Various pre-order offers have been offered and we had opted for that of the site ofAsus which, for a little more euros, made it possible to receive the console but also its carrying case and the ROG Cetra Core wired headphones. For the record, it is fedex who delivered the package and everything went on time and without a hitch.
The first contact with the ROG Ally is with its box which is sober, compact and designed in compliance with current recycling standards.. In addition to the console, there are the instructions, the charger and a (ridiculous?) cardboard base allowing the console to be placed vertically on a table. If the latter is effective, it does not prevent it from being rather cheap and a real hard base would not have been refused.
The carrying case is black and quite nice with the tagline ” REPUBLIC OF GAMERS written in white twice on the edge. It is unfortunately flexible, which will clearly not protect the console that is inside in the event of a fall. Admittedly, the screen is well protected by a solid plate which comes to rest on top, but here, if the whole escapes you, a breakage or a dislocation of the hull seems likely to us.
Headphones ASUS ROG Cetra Core, black and red, are very typical gaming with their angular shapes. These are in-ear headphones that hold perfectly in place thanks to the two small rubber tabs that fit into the ear flaps. On the sound side, it is in the right average with a clear sound without distortion and with very correct bass. A little extra, it is sold with a carrying case, ear plugs and blocking tabs of different sizes.
