These people did not respect the vision and direction of the real project., that of the artist, that of Uncle David. And that’s what they tried to make us believe… “, they denounce.
Therefore, the children of the interpreter of To each his own way have decided to postpone the release of the singer’s posthumous album reggae. Entitled A Job or A Biz, the opus was initially to be released in stores around February 16, date of the first anniversary of the artist’s death. A heavy disappointment for fans of Tonton David, whose last album, My Gouille, was released in 2009. “Between mourning and the obstacles presented above, time was necessary before being able to look into the output of A Job or A Biz. It is our duty to honor his memory by trying as far as possible that this album is authentic, true, that he represents his universe as faithfully as possible“, explain the singer’s children on Facebook.

No complaint filed for embezzlement
Uncle David’s children couldn’t conclude their post without sending warm thanks to their father’s fans: “We thank you all again for your support, your help and your kindness”. It must be said that last year, the family of Uncle David had launched a kitty to finance the funeral expenses of the singer, but also his posthumous album. In total, nearly 60,000 euros were raised. Contacted by our colleagues from Le Parisien, his former manager, Jérémy, assured thatno complaint had been filed “for embezzlement”. “The trouble is, these legal proceedings have to be settled before the record is released. And that might take a little while.”, he specifies. To date, the disc’s release is postponed indefinitely.
