under conditions – Schauspielhaus boss Robert Pienz is allowed to return

In January, Schauspielhaus boss Robert Pienz was suspended. The reason was increasing differences within the company. Now Pienz is returning to the theater. The conditions for this: He agreed to a new organizational chart and an internal company code of conduct.

The code of conduct applies to all employees and regulates, among other things, communication and interaction with one another. The director told the media that he himself was involved in drawing up the organizational chart. Four board members of the sponsoring association were present at the decisive vote on the future of Pienz on February 20th. There it was decided to end Pienz’s suspension. The director may now continue his office within the framework of a two-part (instead of previously undivided) management and under the agreed code of conduct. Reiner Kais will now most likely be designated as commercial director, Robert Pienz will be the artistic director. The overload of work caused by sole management and the Corona crisis have “gotten over the head of the director,” according to the sponsoring association. The contracts for the two-part management now have to be cast into a legal form.
