Secret services give trainers a ban
A professor who trains prospective agents compares the political situation in Germany with the final phase of the GDR. For the time being, a political scientist is no longer allowed to train prospective agents of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) at the federal university because of suspicion of extremism. The scientist concerned, who teaches security policy, made public in a podcast that he had been banned from entering the Center for Intelligence Training and Advanced Training in Berlin. This is where the domestic intelligence service, the Protection of the Constitution, and the BND, which is responsible for foreign countries, train their offspring.
It is a temporary ban on the professor, which applies until the final decision as to whether there is actually a security risk. According to the scientist, about which the “Spiegel” reported, the constitution protection accused him of “efforts against the free and democratic basic order”. He denies this himself.

Neither the Federal Intelligence Service nor the Office for the Protection of the Constitution wanted to comment on the case. At the BND it was said that no one would comment that it was a personnel matter.
