Former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak announced on Twitter on Sunday his candidacy to become the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, in order to “recover” the country’s economy and “unite” the Conservative Party.
“The United Kingdom is a great country, but we are facing a deep economic crisis,” he wrote, confirming his candidacy, while Boris Johnson has still not started. “I am running to be the leader of the Conservative Party and your next prime minister,” he added.
